Juliet, Tennessee. David was 68 years old and fought bravely through his illness, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness.
David was born on October 12, 1956, to the late Carl and Elizabeth Elrod in Mt. Juliet. From a young age, he demonstrated an innate curiosity and a quiet determination, traits that would serve him well throughout his life. A proud graduate of Mt. Juliet High School, he was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering loyalty to his community and family.
David’s life was defined by his commitment to his family and his love for the people around him. In 1980, David married the love of his life, Karen Adams, and together they built a life full of happiness, adventure, and unwavering support for one another. Their marriage was one of mutual respect, deep love, and an enduring partnership that touched the hearts of all who knew them.
David and Karen were blessed with two children, Jessica Elrod, a proud mother of two, and William Elrod, a devoted son and friend to all. As a father, David was steadfast, always present, and committed to instilling in his children the values of hard work, integrity, and kindness. His dedication to his family was unyielding, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, especially his six grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy into his life.
David was a man of great character, someone whose presence brought peace and comfort to those who knew him. He was a man of few words but had a heart that spoke volumes. Whether offering a listening ear or sharing his wisdom, David had a way of making those around him feel valued and heard. Professionally, David spent the majority of his career working in the construction industry. A celebration of life will be held on January 19, 2025, at Mt. Juliet First United Methodist Church, located at 123 Church Street, Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. The service will begin at 11:00 AM, with a reception to follow at the church.
The family will receive visitors at a visitation on the evening prior, January 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sellars Funeral Home in Mt. Juliet. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mt. Juliet First United Methodist Church or to the Tennessee Wildlife Federation, organizations that David was passionate about and supported throughout his life.
David’s life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and service to others.
